I doubt there's much that can be done after the plastics were stressed under the different conditions you listed. Would love to see the suggestions if any are posted.

Today, I tried again to open the casing. This time with succes. The screen cover can be removed with a little bit of cautious force. It is fixed to the casing with some nice tape which can be disengaged without damage. After the screen cover was gone, the radio falls easily apart.
The throttle is easily to remove from the casing, only fixed with one tiny screw. I put some grease on all its moving parts and the noises are gone. *happy*
By the way, despite all the abuse I threw at the radio, the inside looks brand new, found no dirt, dust or other stuff...I'm impressed.

Some may not be as lucky as you to open the radio's casing without damage.

I would go 4PM only if full receiver TFHSS SR compatibility is needed and those receivers seem slower at basic functions thou handling the telemetry extremely well. Not exactly sure what futaba means when they state 4PM compatible with an X and notes the 3PV is compatible with the R334SBS/E with a #3. I am gathering that the 4pm has more telemetry options than the 3pv.

Seems like the faster receiver is a s-fhss unless you need telemetry🤷🏻‍♂️

Since the 4PX is out and still waiting for an official replacement or upgrade.

The chart is simply saying that the 3pv will work with the newer rxs whereas the 4pm being a recent rls is automatic with all the rxs barring those that came out with the earlier 3 series trxs. The 203/204 are slower than any of the 3 series rxs. The 4pm does have more menu functions and features than the 3pv so it's a given you'd see more info relayed via the telemetry. The 3pv can only show the battery volt via telemetry whereas the 4pm will show more such as temp, rpm etc. There's no area on the 3pv's screen to show any other info other than battery level for trx and rx battery(nitro)/ lipo(electric).

Yeah I dug and found the R334SBS has a latency of 2.45mS.. super fast

Been using this futaba 3pv for about 2 weeks now and I must say I'm extremely impressed with how for an entry level Futaba radio, it's head and shoulders above the rc4gs that it replaced. I'm saying this based on the trx/rx communication, night and day in comparison to my rc4gs. So much so that I drove with a group of friends recently and it felt good to see their surprise in the vast difference in driving with the 3pv in comparison to the rc4gs that I was using for almost a year. Only true disappointment I have with the 3pv is no backlight. Other than that, with a couple comfort ergo mods the radio feels really great even without no backlight 😢🤷‍♂️. I'd recommend the 3pv to anyone looking for an entry level very capable trx.

Is R202GF compatible with the T3PV?
It should be because of the protocol, but itīs not on the compability-list(?)

T-fhss high speed

Hey guys, will the futaba 3pv with r304sb receiver work in high speed t-fhss mode with any digital servo? Or is a futaba servo necessary to operate the 3pv in this mode? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Roelof 07-09-2021 04:58 AM

Only the SR mode requires special SR compatible servo's. The T-FHSS only requires standard 333Hz digital servo's and even then you can set each channel to normal analog as well.
