How come all of the motors are .5 turns. for example, like 17.5 or 8.5.

How come there is not 17 or 8?

Winding's start out on one end of the stator and end up on the other end resulting in a half turn.

Not all motors are half turns. I've seen Thunder Power 550 size that are 4.0 turns and 5.0 turns.

One day I was on the phone with them and asked how that is done given that the collector ring is usually in the front of the motor and the terminals in the rear (thus the half turn to get from front to rear). The guy I was talking to said he didn't know and that the guy who designed the motors was no longer with the company.

I have seen whole turn motors from other manufacturers, just don't remember exactly which ones right now.

Supposedly something to do with wye and delta winding methods. the even winds are my favorite in sedan which are supposed to be delta.

in order to remove half a coil from windings of the motor, you need to unsolder the rear ring, and to connect the windings on top of everything at one point, but many engines make it impossible, but if you connect in Delta, to avoid a cluster of wires, then the revs will increase 1.82 times!!!

Delta winds and Y-winds are not comparable in performance for the same number of winds at all (deltas rev much higher). So unless specified as Delta wind, a .0 motor of the same series as the .5 motors, is most likely not a delta wind.

By rules the delta wind is also forbidden. The motor must have a Y wind.

Only for 'stock' classes, 10.5-25.5T motors, mod classes have no restrictions on type of wind.
