Default Reedy 1000Z ESC

Anybody owns this?

Do you need to fork out $50 for the Program box just to adjust the drag brakes, brake frequency, punch, and all that stuff?

experiences from owners?

It is all adjustable via the buttons on the esc. It's pretty straight forward, as long as you have the instructions to reference there shouldn't be any issues. No program box needed.

Is the lipo cutoff adjustable or is set to 3.0 by default? I didn't see it in the instructions.

What is the ESC thermal shutdown temp, and is there a thermal shut down sensor for Reedy motor?

OKay, seriously interested in this. Does it compare well to some of the more expensive esc out there? I just think the Orion R10.1 Pro, Tekin RSX, etc. seem pretty high priced.
I just want a nice smooth esc, not a light switch. And I want to be able to step up from 17.5 to mod buggy without swapping the esc.

This is a great esc for the money. Definitely not that light switch feel. It is smooth and very adjustable.

The idea of this ESC (and 800Z) is to give racers something that is simple to use but still offers the adjustability and throttle/brake feel that is as good as that of more expensive ESCs. You are THE target customer.

In fact many of AE's top drivers use this ESC on a regular basis.

Well I am Not impressed with this speed control. I should have looked at the foot print size for one. And it having a shotty button and no on/off switch . I would figure this would have been a little more refined.
