Unhappy Gonna miss them......

I still have my trusty Novak Cyclone ESC that still works like a champ. Having second thoughts about selling it now that I see this news.
Also run the Novak Edge 25.5 system in VTA & am glad to see that we can still run them in VTA.
Is another company going to buy them out or take over their warranty work?

I'm curious too as to what about the stuff that's in for repair right now and about warranty work for newly purchased items.

Hi,

Really sad to hear this have been running Novak for 20+ plus years.
Always had really good product support.

Really felt valued when you contacted them.

In 2013 finally got the chance to meet Bob at the 1/10 worlds in Chico, ended up pitting with him for the event. Made us all feel really welcome, even though it was the first time that we had met.

Went for dinner a few times with him over the event, always good for a chat.

I hope everything works out for the people that were working there.

Could be the start of changes in the RC industry?

MiCk B. :-)

Rc industry legend.
Saved me alot if pain as a young racer in the late 80s after dealing with resistor speed controls.... I think I still have my t4 around somewhere (still works ..I bet).

Very sad.
Wish everyone from Novak the very best on their new path in life.

Sorry to see them go, but thanks bringing the brushless esc/motor to the rc masses.

Definitely the loss of an industry legend.

From Rooster's, to GT7's, to GTX's, to GTB's. Loved every one and they all performed. Not to forget their receivers and motors too.

Best wishes in your future endeavors Bob and family.

Sad, but someone once said to me keep any eye out for this once that started going with stuff that looked like rebadged HW stuff like that programmer box ...

I still have some Novak stuff, and can't say anything but good words for their products!
Maybe the childreen (daugthers) don't care it anymore since the father needs to retire...and they have other jobs...
(Novak is a family based company...) mostly the good stuff is family based...
HK? Like Hobby King? (Sorry if a newb question). But just based on the new products they released, didnt seem like they were in such a tough spot. But I assume if they were making good $$ they would have kept it regardless. Maybe you are right though and no one wanted to continue the legacy? Seems they would have just sold at that point. And Im still kinda curious why they arent selling the brand? No offers maybe?

And I still remember my first brushless system. The Super Sport system was AMAZING when it came out. Sad to hear them go. Thanks for the good times Novak!

I have a T4 yet. 1988 or '89 I think? Low switching frequency and hard on brushes compared to later designs, but does still work.

Thank you Novak for your great products you made through the years. To this day they are still the only ESC and Motor I have in my car, 12 in total.

They have worked flawlessly and I'm sure they will continue this way.

Ps to those who have items in for warranty, call them, their is most likely someone still there tending to loose ends.

Well this is sad news indeed. I've ran Novak products since I bought a T4 ESC new in 1987. Still have it in my RPS Yokomo SE 4WD buggy up on the shelf over my work bench. Never had a single failure with my Novak electronics.

Wow, a company like Novak, which was a pioneer in the industry; aimed squarely at the interests of racers goes under, and it warrants 29 posts on the largest racing forum I know of. I ran their products in the 80's, ran some of their newer stuff within the last year or two. I didn't notice anything wrong with any if it. No better and no worse than any other top tier manufacturer. It's funny, as soon as any new esc comes out, within the first page someone will always chime in with the brilliant comment "looks like a HobbyWing". Yet, in the end, those seem to be what everyone buys anyway. Companies that do their own thing just don't get the media playtime that they probably should. We seem to dislike rebadged clones but the final vote is made with our wallets so.....There aren't many US RC manufacturers left now anymore. I do wonder though, if it was HobbyWing going under, would the thread have broken a hundred posts yet?
