Need help with RX pack

Hi need some help with a 5 cell AA 3000 mah NiMH RX pack I built. When charging it, I can't get it to take much more than 150-200 mah. I've tried charging it and discharging it several different ways and it's always in that range. When I use it in my truggy its only good for about 3-4 tanks. Any ideas?

32 mins of charge time at .5A only input 107 mah

Also, is it possible that I assembled it wrong? I thought I did it correctly.

Its been a while, didn't know AA come in 3000mah. Have you tried 2/3 A Batteries @ 1600mah? I was using those before Lipos became popular.

2/3 A Battery pack are still out there. Price about $10. 1600mah you may think its low, but it lasted me 1hr during a endurance race 1hr &15min max.

My Serpents in my museum still carries 1600mah and still take a charge, they're on the shelf 6 yrs.

I'm happy with 2/3 A. And yes rather use them then Lipos!! You can run them till Flat! Lipos gotta charge them at 6v.

Good Luck!!

One of my cars barely makes it through 5 tanks on a single charge with a 2/3 cell 1600 mah pack I bought at the store but it has a Savox juice sucking servo hooked up to it.

When I had 2 Savox in it, it barely made it through 3 tanks.

I'm running Futaba S9451 and S9452 servos which aren't nearly as power hungry as some of the other units. I am fairly smooth with the throttle and steering so I wouldn't think the servos are causing the issue.
