Tekin Fxr Issue

Hi guys new here i was told this might be the place for some help!?

Took the g6 out after work only to find it had no dive I realised there was no noise when I turned in got home to find lights flashing on ESC anyone know what this means? the lights are 1,3,5

Ok I thought this was because my battery was dead but I have charged it up & it's still flashing just the same any ideas!?

I have power to my servo that works fine I have re calibrated the radio to esc & still no luck

Cheers

Damon

According to codes at Tekin, the 1,3, & 5 means battery cutoff voltage is not set properly. Recheck this.

Yeah I looked at the codes & checked I was on the right setting for 2s it's been working fine for months now all of a sudden this has happened, I would of thought by changing th me LVC it would of sorted it out but it hasn't

Tekins 1,3,5 LED are on. Reason Cutoff voltage set too low 6v. 6v meaning Lipo 2s 3v per cell...is too low. To remedy this LED6, Custom mode. To get into Custom, you need to have the Hotwire Interface. Set up Voltage cut off to 6.2 or 6.4v. 6.4v will allow 3.2v volts per cell.

6v for 2S lipos in time the minimum voltage. You are better off with 6.4v. Your model will glitch telling your lipos low, where you suppose to stop. Lipo will give an Low voltage error on charger preventing you to charge.

Time will tell Lipos get weaker. Balance the lipo periodically may extend the life.

The bit I don't understand is I've been using this setup for about 4/6 months with the LVC set to 2s & it's been fine why all of a sudden has it done this?

The battery is fine I charged it plugged it back in still have the 3 lights on its like the ESC is not re setting its self after the battery went flat

I've not needed a Hotwire before when the battery has gone flat I've just re charged or swapped packs & carried on

FXR

What charger you using? What you mean flat?

It's a Turnigy accucell 6 I don't understand why this matters can you explain like I said never had this issue befor

Its been a while since I messed with a brushed ESC by Tekins.

Troubleshooting say LED's 1,3,&5, Voltage cut off low. If you're using nimh it would matter. Lipos Specs 2s or 3s lipos. Sure the FXR doesn't use 1s.

Setting you cut out Lipos 2s or 3s, 6v or 9v. You must be running 3s. For some reason it drop down from 3s to 2s, giving the error of LED 1,3,& 5 low cut off.

I don't know why it changed. Maybe when you disconnected the Lipo to recharge, Not turning it off disconnecting the ESC. Its all a phenomenon, electronics!! Or your brushed motor brushes are worn causing sparks and glitches.

Check you setting periodically, I do it with brushless. Upgrade to brushless, less maintenance, more quicker and power.

Reason why I asked you questions is to get a picture on what you have. Got away with brushed since Tekins came out with the R1 ESC 5 yrs +!!!! Been a while!!!

I'm running 2s lipo don't own any 3s ones! Brushes are new a month ago, motor runs fine if you hook it up to power supply

I always turn the switch off before disconnecting the battery

I was always led to believe brushless & water were not so good!?

I will have to try to get hold of Tekin again

Brushless and Brushed anything electric not good with water.

Next time you charge lipos tell me the voltage of each cell when it starts. When confirm the charge and it starts charging ,press inc button. I'll show voltage on the cells.

Maybe a cold solder joint on motor or battery. Was the armature trued before brushes replaced?

it been fully reset now & its working again :-) thanks for your help

Kewl!! Its been a while since I messed with brushed motor. Knowing the LED's error means. Knowing the remedy where to look. 98% of fixing it is setup. You learn by playing around with it. Playing with timing and boost on the ESC, or messing with timing on the motor endbell. Look into bushless less maintenance like replacing brushes and truing commutator(armature). Brushless and Lipos made to be together. Longer runs and quicker.

Have fun!!!
