Really kind of depends on what class you plan to race and your budget to get the best value for your money.
|
no budget really but the classes for the buggy is stock 17.5 and mod
|
for a beginner what motor would you recomend
|
For stock racing -
You are going to get a million opinions here, so here are mine. Most decisions are going to be a) budget based or b) track support based. See what others run and what is sold at your track, this will make support easier. Motors 17.5 - Reedy, SchuurSpeed, Fantom - same if mod, just mod wind. (for beginner stick with stock) ESC - Hobbywing Justock for stock racing or v3.1 if for stock and mod later Battery - Reedy, Orion, SMC or Trinity 4000 mah+ shorty. Charger - Orion touch or ICharger duo if for stock and want to charge higher amperage (will also need power supply) Radio - Airtronics or Futaba - model depends on budget. Also some are happy with Spektrum higher end models. |
HB Bob - Which motor is the fastest for a mid size track 17.5 between Reedy, Schuurspeed, and Fantom? Best for track like OCRC, and also one that is about 2/3 size with tighter turns (SCVRC)? thx

Reedy Sonic M3 17.5 motor Reedy 800z Blackbox ESC Team Orion Carbon Pro 4500mah battery Hitec X2 AC plus charger Airtronics MX-V radio Savox 1258tg servo (do not buy a Spectrum S6240 - cord will not fit with B5M servo mount). It seems pretty solid so far. |
would it be bad to go with reedy electronics like motor battery servo esc?

Plenty of fast drivers run all of these brands so pick what is available to you and within your budget. |

For stock racing you will find it to be just as good as anything else, just easier on the wallet. Use the extra money for practise, spare parts etc. It sounds like you are new to racing so at this point I wouldn't worry about the fastest motor, this just leads to faster crashes :) |

The juststock is easy to use, just calibrate and your set. If you want to change settings I would recommend the programming box ( I would recommend programming box for any esc if you want to change settings).
