Saved A Battery
I left my wires hooked up for a week on the car and when I checked the battery, it was dead, and would not charge. Then I remembered some guys saying you can charge a lipo on nimh settings for 20 seconds, and it would kick it back to life. I gave it a try and sure enough, it started charging after that. I put it back in the car, and good to go. I am using a EV Peak charger from Dirt Cheap RC, on sale for $110, and charges two batteries at once, on A/C. It feels great to get a break once in a while, from this money eating hobby.

I've done this several times from leaving plugged in. From my experience if it was ran all the way down, it'll never be "right" again, it will be off balance when it runs down, will be flat feeling. I have however done it many times to bring one up from 2v or so and they've acted perfectly normal from then on. One of the main reasons I don't buy used batts lol.

But you're absolutely right! Be careful with them now. It's kind of like that dog that nipped at your kid, just that ONE time....you can never fully trust them again:( |
