Another case against late night engineering...

This was very carefully constructed to be a parallel battery connector...sigh...

I don't want to re-do the ends, so I guess I'll make a couple male-male adapters for this adapter so's I can still adapt...

Eventually, the esc will become Ec5 and that will spawn further changes and adapters down the line...just gotta get organized :)

Here's way too early, before coffee and a shave...

Blegh...

Ok, a little later when my fresh attitude, vim & vigor take charge..

NOW I'm ready for some high-capacity lunch hour wheelies! It's starting to get too cold after work and I need to finish sewing up a radio mitten.

I bought a bunch of conn's from the Far East for about 11 cents a PAIR. They work ok, but have needed light sanding or a ton of flux to flow. You can see the dross in the middle pic. I'm thinking it's not really gold plated...duh...

But they get the job done for all the different battery combo's I'm testing until I can decide on Ec5 or Sermos.

I actually used 3 pair of Deans per connection quite awhile back on a D cell horseshoe pack for an evil USA-1 experiment and that worked quite well. Everything got hot except for the conn's and lining the plugs up in a row in the lay of the wires to just touch them with a hot iron was easy cheesy.

That'd just be 35 cents a conn with these...hmmm...

Me too... But when I wake up, I can't remember them... All I can remember is that was the best idea I ever had...

Oh man, that's how it goes, huh? I keep a little notebook on my night stand, but frequently go to sleep on the couch because it's on the way from my work area and I'm usually pooped after focusing so hard to finish up a project! I did some other things that night earlier that were ok, though.

i find it much easier to do the job the right way and TRASH these types of things..

switched to XT90 and love them and there is now way as stated in a few posts to plug in reversed ..

Sorry if this is a late night type question :D but how does this work? A parallel connection for long run times makes me think of a Y adapter, 2 packs that connect to a ESC?

Hehe...you're exactly right. These pieces plug into the mis-configured Y cable in the 1st pic to make it Dean's male from the esc to accept Dean's female batteries.

I've got plenty of single-connector and hard-wired setups, but this was to let me move some batteries around a few different rtr's and not disturb the original wiring.

Late night questions are always welcome :)
