I also am interested in getting a icharger but not sure if I should look at the 308 duo or the new one. Does it warrant the price of the new one ?

Not sure I'd consider a 308 Duo to be an old model. I'm guessing you are thinking of the 406 Duo? Depends on your needs and what packs you have or plan on having. 406 has more power/amperage, but less cell capability.

What are you trying to charge, including possible future plans?

I use it the charge 1 and 2 cell batteries for RC cars.

I'm sure they both will suit you so pick your poison. The numbers in the name refers to there capabilities....
308=30amp up to 8 cell
406=40amp up to 6 cell ect.

The iCharger 206b would be more than up to the task of charging your batteries for half the price unless you specifically want a duo so you can dump packs with a resistor bank.

What are you currently using to charge your 1S batteries?

I'm using a muchmore cell master.

The difference between the two is definitely the cost and I'm not sure as to spending more cash makes it better.

I have 2 308 chargers and love them.

308 user here. I also only charge 1 or 2 cell batteries and the 308 is more than enough. The dual output and high charge rate allows me to charge all my cells pretty quickly when your in a time crunch.

I mainly bought the icharger for its features and precision. You want a charger than can measure internal resistance

I am going to purchase an I charger for the fact that they can measure internal resistance for my batteries. I mostly run 2s batteries..What model do I need.....not looking for overkill....also I may want to charge two or three 2s batteries at the same time north of 8-10 amps...what power supply is needed and adapters?

For 2s applications I find a 12V 20amp power supply more than enough. If you start charging batteries with more cells you might want to up that to a 24V 20amp supply

This is the setup I am using. Charges 2s batteries at 15amps all day.
