Best servos below 30$?

Which are the best steering servos and the best throtle servos below 30$?

Been buying tower pro mg995 and mg996 off ebay for awhile usually about $6 ea. Ive had good luck usually but this last batch of 4 1 wont center and one smoked 30 seconds into use.

I have already tried both the 995 and 996. If you are lucky they can be good servos, but with Tower Pro it is a gamble, you can either have a great servo that lasts forever or have a really bad one that doesn't even survive the first turn.
I guess it depends on which underage chinese assembles the servo.

I was looking for something with similar specs (a bit faster than the tower pros) but a bit more reliable than tower pro.

Any reviews on the AeroStar ASI-613MG?

Operating Speed: (4.8V) 0.125sec/60°
Operating Speed: (6V) 0.103sec/60°
Stall Torque: (4.8V) 11.53 kg.cm
Stall Torque: (6V) 13.83kg.cm

The specs are good but i found no reviews on them.

it is for a 1/8 buggy so i need more torque, at least 12kg.cm, the speed i like it below 0.12s

Two of my favorite cheap servos are the Solar D771 and Turnigy 1258tg

I run the 1258tg in my buggy and the d771 in my son's Slash. Both have plenty of torque for a buggy however the d771 is rated up to 2s lipo.

Now we are talking, how reliable are those? Any problems since you use them?

Nope both of them have been solid. I've actually got two 1258tgs that I've been using for over a year. One in a rc8.2e and the other in a Rustler. They seem to be reliable and decent quality and they are almost identical to the Savox 1258tg.

The Solar runs like a champ too. So far my 5 yo son hasn't been able to destroy it either, lol.

I also forgot about the Turnigy TS-910. That one will run on 2s lipo and is a torque monster. I haven't used it but I've seen it recommended quite a bit on here for buggy and truggy.

The turnigy 5521 is a good option to look at had great success with it for over a year in 4x4 sct and the power hd 30 mg is ok to for the price at valuehobby.

look at this web site for servos and its in the us! https://www.servocity.com/

seugirdor 09-16-2015 03:08 AM

despite the name it just seems to have hitec and futaba servos.

kawi650 09-16-2015 05:41 AM

My new favorite cheap servos are the Tower Pro 958 and 968. They are a completely different level of quality and performance from the 995 and 996. The 968 is basically a carbon copy of the Hitec 5955, I wouldn't be surprised if they are made on the machines.
