That will be pretty accurate for determining the RPM where peak power output occurs. But the actual value for peak power will be way below 1/2 of the peak power measured on a 2s battery. For comparing motors on the same dyno, it still gives useful info, just not absolutely accurate.

They have to find a way to run any motor without any fuse blowing.....

Since I got this unit, I have made about 150 pulls on it without any fuse issues. These are all 21.5's and 17.5's.

nobody typically cares about mod classes - you usually have more power available than you need or, for 90% of us, can handle.

The spec classes, 21.5, 17.5 are the ones where extra oomph can actually help. It is more than just finding the peak output - for me it is more about the science of matching your motor to your car and track so that it makes the most of its available power (ie: fast) as efficiently as possible (ie: not melting).

I believe the mod class could also benefit from a similar dyno machine that could handle the amp pulls of any mod motor... There are dud motors in the mod class too... I do however understand your point of view...

I haven't blown any 35A fuses in mine using a single battery and 13.5T motors.

Peak current draw is over 120A.

Make sure your ESC is working properly, sensor lead is connected ect.

At the end of the CSV file there is 2 lines of extra information which needs to be removed.

Delete them and save the file.

Other than the link to RC crew chief, I find that the motor info presented here is very similar to the info that comes from my Fantom. One item is that there are many more samples but the Fantoms only presents it in .1 second steps. I have talked to the Fantom's software designer and he cautions on one issue. Brushless motors are fed their voltage around the poles electronically where as brushed motors are mechanically timed at the motor commutator. This creates problems with amp draw sampling and readings that are displayed. Has anyone delved into that potential issue with the Eagle? I have found with the Fantom that the data seems to be smoothed enough that it is not really an issue and pulling the motor a couple of times, if you want, will verify that.

I don't think any unit is going to be a 100% substitute for on track performance, but I also don't think a fantom software developer is an impartial opinion either. Of course he (or she) would talk up their product in comparison to the competition.
