Trinity D8 1/8th scale motor

Anybody have any experience with this motor in an e buggy? I remember when these trinitys would rock all other motors in 1/10th scale that same performance translate into these big ones?

Yes, they work well, I have an older 2100 4 pole D8 in my MP9e, and it has given me no issue. I have to say it's a bit on the heavy side, but I think the newer ones are lighter. As long as you watch your temps you should be ok. Keep in mind these are sensors motors, so plan your esc accordingly.

Can you give a direct comparison to some other big name motors? I've run tekin, thunder power, smc, and hobbywing motors

Only motor I can really compare it with is the Orion motors which I have run in my MP9e. I would say it's more than capable, it has plenty of power and runs cooler, this is without a motor fan, with cooling holes in the body. I never feel like i am low on power either. It's easy to maintain, but so was the Orion. Oh and this may be minimal but I found the Tabs for the ESC wires we're easier to solder as well. I still have a few other motors coming, and will post more once I have a comparison.

Thank you for the comparison I ended up with an brand new Orion I got for a screaming deal. Over the winter I will be building a second mbx7r Eco for my wife may grab one and do side by side comparison in same car

So after running a D8 2000KV for a year now, I have to say it works well, comparable to the LRP Dynamic8, and Tekin T8 1st gen. But in the long run, this is a fairly open motor, and cleaning it and the rate that it is able to ingest dirt and debris in the long run, is not worth it to me. Maybe for an indoor carpet venue. And again, Trinities support is lacking. Time to move on.
