maybe coasting is like Tekins push control.

How is HW customer support?

Was having a debate with a friend last night about the price. He thinks it will be about the same as an rx8, I think it will be lower around $150 so they don't have to compete directly with Tekin. The 3.1 is about $180 so he doesn't think this will be less than that. Thoughts?

180-200 is my guess.

I'm really hoping that it will be paired with a 1900kv motor too.

I may be in the minority in this but that's too high. I saw the new Max8 was $130 and I doubt the new XR8 will be less than the older models $100 price tag.

I have been a hobbywing fan for a while now after I got tired of smoking a few of the gen1 RX8's. I was floored by the durability, ease of use, and price tag!

Seems like they are getting away from the VALUE side which helped bring people affordable options that rivaled the larger names and made the step up their game.

The software interface on Orion 8 looks identical as the HW SCT Pro.

Even if its in the $100s range for this esc i would get it because of just the durability of them you do get some warranty on them . But i have yet to use them to get one fixed or a other one.

don't expect this to be anything under 200.00. The current ESC is all plastic. This ESC looks to be all alum.

Those of you who have been running HW for a while will remember that back in the day, their 10th scale setup was roughly 150 for esc, motor, and programmer. When the 3.0 came out, it was roughly 160 by itself. I would expect a similar trend and personally would be shocked if this esc was less than 200.00

IMO all you have to do is look at the cost of there high end 3.1 too see where this is gonna fall in price wise. I guess I could be wrong though. A Team Orion R8.1 is 300, over priced? You bet but people pay it.......I'm guilty of it

Honestly though the SCT Pro esc works good on 1/8 buggy and fits on the tray great .
And its dirt cheap Never had a problem with my for 2 seasons.

It works ok, but lacks a lot of the top end features that the RX8 and VTX8 have, and has limited adjustability.

HW make a real solid product at the top end of their product line but affordable pricing is not really a feature they offer any more and that's a real shame and probably does more harm than good for them but this no doubt will be another solid performer from them, looks sharp too but if it's in the $200 plus mark alot will shy away from trying it and stick to Tekin and such just my opinion
