How do I charge two 2s batteries at the same time?

Hello all.

What do you guys recommend as far as charging two 2s batteries at the same time? My charger can handle up to 4s.

I understand the whole concept of charging the two batteries in parallel. My questions though is how do I do balancing if there is only one battery port on the balance board? Can someone recommend or link me to a balance board I can use where it can balance both 2s batteries being charger in parallel?

Or do you guys recommend I charge in series so that the charger sees the two 2s as a one 4s battery?

I use a Duratrax Onyx 235 charger.

What do you guys recommend and do they make board that can have two 2s battery balance plugs connected to it at the same time? Thanks! :)

For both parallel and serie charging you can find special balancer cables, boards and even compleete modules to connect 2 batteries to a charger.

I use Paraboards from Buddy RC.

Just pick the configuration that makes the most sense for your batteries.

On a parallel board there are balance ports for each battery used.
The only thing that might mess you up is that the 235 being just plug a play unit has a Battery capacity range: 50-9900mAh , Not sure what happens If you try and charge a larger capacity battery since it is all electronically controlled . When you parallel charge you are adding the capacity together So you would be limited to 2 4500 mAh batteries being charged with a parallel board with your charger . You might want to just get the onyx 245 model So that you can charge 2 batteries at once and not be worried about using the charger outside of its operating parameters

Thanks for the reply! That is a very good point . Dang it..!!! I just bought this charger too. What is the difference between the 235 and 245 other that being able to charge dual batteries? Thanks.

With my charger AC/DC 50W i bought a paraboard for parallel charging and i could charge 3 equal lipos at the same time wither 2s-3s-4s-5s-6s.

All 3 have balacing plugs for each other...

Just get one of those boards...there are even 6 lipo capable!

Thanks for the reply! Does it matter though that my Onyx 235 maxes out at 9900mah? As Stryker pointed out, if I did charge in parallel, that means I could only charger two 2s rated at 4450mah maximum? All of my 2s are all at least 5000mah. I wonder though if it is still possible I use my onyx 235 to charger two 2s using parallel board but what if both 2s batteries go over 9900mah?
