Orion Advantage One Duo charging problem
I've got a new Orion dual charger this week. For some reason, it cuts off the charging voltage of my 2s lipos at 8.1V. I can't figure out why. My older charger will full charge the packs. Any thoughts?

See if there's a max mah charge setting and if so, what is it set to. I have the touch version of that and mine shipped with a default setting of around 4000mah and it would shut off regardless of what the packs' voltage was - if you have large 6000ish packs and you're running them down, that'll make it stop before it's full.

There is no MAH capacity cutoff option. Just a time limit. I am mostly charging shorties.

I am now charging a two week old Orion Carbon shorty and it's already surpassed where my 2 Reedy packs cut off. I can take those Reedy's and put them on my other charger and it will continue to charge them to capacity. Weird.
Edit: It fully charged my Orion pack. One thing I changed in the settings was to have the charging power 70% for channel 1 and %30 for channel 2. I've now plugged one of the Reedy's into channel 1 and it is now charging. I'm confused as to why I can't fully charge a pack when the settings are 50/50. |
I've found mine charges to 4.1v per cell. I asked Orion and if the temperature is 15c or less it charges to 4.1v per cell, but if the temperature is above that it chargers to 4.2v per cell. I tested this and its correct. I need to figure out how to make it charge to 4.2v per cell regardless of the temperature. Maybe this is your problem too?

Yeah, I still use the charger, but the packs never get to 4.2v per cell. Usually 4.16-4.18. It doesn't seem to really make a difference for me. If I had it to do all over again, I would probably choose a different charger, but not sure which one.

I'm the same, wouldn't have bought it if I knew about this issue. I'm hopefully catching up with an electronics mate this week to see if we can figure out how to "fix" the internal temp sensor.
