Esc burned

Hey I lent my friend my Novak gtb esc and he burned it on me using a 2.5 turn motor so is there anyone out here that fixes ESC's?. Thanks

No. Sadly if an esc burns its just a throw out item.

Im sure somebody could mend it, but at that point it would be like mending a written off car.

Well I found a guy that fixes this type of stuff. I usually fix this type of stuff my self but I don't have a special tool I need.

Good luck. Usually once they burn out it does alot of damage because the heat generated ruins all neighbouring electronics.

Sounds like you need to fix your friend first.

Consider Novak's trade in program. They offer remanufactured items with a warranty at a discounted cost.

I agree with Dave. Contact Novak directly. They might fix it, but they will probably take it as a trade-in towards a new ESC.

Your friend should help pay for it.

If any smoke got let out I am sure that while some part was ruined other parts were damaged. Best thing is to trade it in or replace it any effort to repair will likely just the start of a long road to pain and misery. Your friend should step in and help make it right.

I have trust issues...

I agree with the trade in.

ESC's can be repaired "sometimes".

Components can be replaced until it becomes uneconomical to repair also sometimes the boards get to damaged where they cannot be repaired. Most ESC are two PCB design with the logic on one board and the motor phase switching on another. With the correct tools and knowhow it can be done.
