Simple Futaba noob question

So im setting up my new to me Futaba 4PKS-R and when I command throttle, the servo acts as if im giving it brake and same for brake it reacts as if im giving throttle. I looked through the manual and cant find it, your help is appreciated!

Any time you switch radios, you should recalibrate your throttle/brakes on the ESC. Not only will it ensure you're getting full throttle and brakes, it hopefully will fix your reverse problem.

If not you need to set channel 2 to reverse. You'll have to recalibrate after making this change.

Is this a nitro vehicle? I'm guessing it is because of the servo for throttle.

Any how, press right on the d pad. That should bring up the fist page of menus. You are looking for an option called ch-rev or something like that.
Once you find it go in there and switch whatever the th is set at.

Also go in and make sure that all trims and sub trims are are zeroes out.

Now set you end points on throttle and brake.

Its actually for my Losi 5ive-t, thanks ATX i will try that!

Is that just a simple servo reverse function setting?

I use the 4PKS-R myself. Great radio, zero issue. :D

GerryH 04-16-2015 06:50 PM

Yes, I think you have the servo reversed.

Reversing the TH channel will resolve your problems. Recheck the EPA afterwards

If you did not get the manual when you bought the radio do yourself a favor and download it fromthe internet. Link to Futaba manuals is attached.http://www.futaba-rc.com/downloads/manuals.html

Yes, I definitely reference the manual from time to time while programming it. Especially when you have mix modes running it can get a little confusing vs my other radio I use on my off road trucks, Spektrum DX4S.

Hi another noob question. The antenna aerial on the receiver is about 3 times longer than my old spektrum. Does the aerial have to be completely out or can I run a short aerial and have the rest in the receiver box?
The receiver is 614ff

You can put as much as you want inside the receiver box, only the last 1 inch being exposed is critical.

The "bare" end of the antenna wire is all that needs to be exposed.
