Guys I am getting over whelmed looking at all the different lipo chargers to buy.
Just getting back into racing and will be running 10th scale mod and 1/8 scale later on.
Do they make a higher end ac dc high voltage charger for racing or do you recommend a charger that relies on a power supply? So many look like copy cats.. I don't want to buy something and then in three months be listing for sale to upgrade again. HELP...

The 406 is great but there really isn't any need for that much charger. You'll be fine with a much cheaper 206.

+1 on 206
306/406 are overkill for rc racing imo, they're for helis/planes. 206 has enough power to push energy into any 1/8 pack at max possible C rating.

It depends what your intentions are.
406 = it can charge up tp 6 cells at 40 amps

206 = it can chargw 6 cells at up to 20 amps.

It there is any chance in racing a stock class you'll want the 406

The iCharger 206B is limited to 300 Watts. It would be limited to around 12 Amps on a 6S. 20A on 3S and lower.

Usually I agree with getting the best you can up front, but not this time.
Get youself a good (workhorse) ac/dc charger and go run mod buggy. If there is one spare I like to keep on hand it's a charger, the ac/dc will still work if your ps fails.

1/8 scale usually runs on 4s. Of course some ppl have weird 1300kv/6s configs, but i can't remember any 6s hardcase, and serious events have strict rules about hardcases. So you need to switch system to something 4s-capable for such events. And it's safe bet to have just two 4s-packs and 206 charger to run through whole event.
406 has another one downside: weight and size.

Thanks for the help guys. Went with a 306B , 500 watt power supply, parallel charge board mounted in a protective case from ProgressiveRC. Great guys to deal with..

Wurd! I have been researching for a little while and have not found one better in specs so far. I consider it to be the modern day turbo 30. While some might feel chargers like these are overkill, I can't agree seeing how its plenty expandable.
All my planes and helis are nitro but I'm slowly turning over to superior electrics.
