Installed Bec now car slower??
 

I just installed a Castle bec after setting the voltage to 6v. Now the car seems to have half the power it did before? I followed the instructions and have removed the red wire from the esc lead. What's going on?
It's an electric 8th scale buggy running on 4s. Feels like it's on 2s. Mamba monster esc

Sounds like the entire car is running off the BEC instead of just the servo. Go back and double and triple check that you removed the correct wire.

Question... Why are you running a BEC in the first place?? Usually the MMM are pretty reliable by themselves:weird:

recalibrate the mm esc..
why dint you adjust the mm bec to 6v 1st?
check lipos charge..16.2+ v ?

I have heard from several people that the internal BEC in the MM ESC's are weak so it's a good idea to use an external BEC.
I will do exactly the same on my Nexx8 with a Neu-1512 1.5Y 1800kV motor and Mamba Monster V1 ESC.

I didn't re calibrate.
I am running one because I think I was getting brown outs with a Savox servo. I changed the internal bec to 6v with no luck.

Well there's your problem right there:lol: Ditch the Savox and then you don't have to run the BEC. Problem solved...

When I can afford to. I have a Hobbywing Xerun combo coming for the car to update the running gear. Hopefully I wont need a Bec on it. I have read that the MM1 has a weak bec despite what the output is set on.

Yeah funny enough, the BEC output on the MM1 is only 5.5V. On my own CC BEC I have set the output to 6.6V, that way I get the maximum performance from my servo, which is designed to run on 6.6V.

As Jerm13 says, change that Savox servo in a hurry. There's so many other good ones out there. You could look into the HiTec, Sanwa, Multiplex, Futaba or some other good brand, I know many LOVE the Savox brand, because they are relatively cheap and has good specs. But I feel they make far too much noise and I hate when servos "sings". My own favorite is the Xpert servo brand. I plan to change all the standard sized servos in my cars to Xperts over time. Yep I may be a bit biased.

They are brushless, so they are very energy effecient and should last for a long time. Plus they are fast and have lots of torque, even their low voltage range (4.8V - 6.6V) An example is the Xpert WR-4401 I use my self it has these specs.
