Tekin disappointment
I recently purchased a tekin gen2 rx8 and a pro4 4600 on Feb. 6th brand new at my lhs. On Feb. 28th was the first time I ran it at our local track. 2 laps in it started acting crazy. Puttering and jerking. Brought it back to the pits and reprogrammed everything. Back to the track and same thing. Moments later the esc started smoking. Everybody at the track said dont worry Tekin will take care of you. Sent it in on Monday and got it back today. They did nothing, said they found nothing. They said it does not smell burnt or anything. Clearly it smells heated at the very least. Said it pasted all their tests. Now what do I do? I am running a spc 5000mah 50c rated battery. I called them and was very polite and they said to make a video if it does it again. Wow!!!

That seems really strange. i'd say hook it back up and if it still doesn't work, make a video of what it does and send it back again...

I've had nothing but great support from tekin. If they can't find anything wrong with it then there probably isn't. They wouldn't have just sent out back to you without checking and testing it. As the previous poster says run it again and see what happens. The cogging sensation could be down to a sensor issue as well are you using a new sensor lead? You can also check if the esc is seeing the sensors. With the esc all powered up manually rotate the wheels and watch for the 3 leds on the esc dimly flashing - it's a great feature of the esc!

I have the same setup and it is a beast in the power dept. I liked it so much I got it's brother, the RSX, in my other 4x4, and it is a beast as well, thanks Tekin.
