bec vs power cap
what is the difference between a bec and a power cap they look very similar and i am not shure which to get. all i need it to do is supply power to a high voltage servo and the castle bec sucks

Hi
A power cap..aka. glitch buster.. will only Keep voltage from going below your desired volts say its 6vdc.. that will last for a short time as in less than a few micro seconds .all depends on caps size as in micro ferrads..its a boom and then gone till cap recharges.. also micro seconds. A bec is hooked to your power source .battery.. and does not have a time limit.. it is constant supply. at whatever the bec is set..say 6vdc 5 amps. There is a Giant difference.. you might need both.. have you set the castle bec on a higher voltage? |

If you need to power a HV servo to 7.4V, then you need an external BEC. A capacitor that plugs into your receiver would help with brownouts caused by low voltage to the servo but wont increase the output like an external BEC. Castle makes one that you wire in, and its adjustable via Castle Link. |
all castle ESC or BEC are adjustable via the castle link..

For some reason I cannot get the Castle BEC to work with my Savox 2271 high voltage servo. I adjusted it to 7.4, and the servo moved left and quit, did this twice. I did not want to push my luck, and quit messing with it.
