Airtronics mt4 cutting out

I'm having a problem with my new mt4. The voltage on the telemetry jumps around from 6v down into the 4s whenever I touch the steering. Towards the end of a race it's just cutting out completely until I stop and wait for a few minutes. I never had this problem with my low end Futaba 3prka. My servo is a Savox sc-1258tg.
What should I do? Really dissapointed at the moment.
Thanks

Though SAVOX are one of the best you must run a good battery, SAVOX use a lot of battery. The MT4 is designed to shutdown and provide only steering if the voltage is low. What battery are you running? What ESC are you running. Also are you running caps on your ESC.

It sounds like the radio is doing its job, you just need to find out why it is shutting down. i.e. low battery voltage.

I use turnigy 5000mah 4s batteries. I'm not sure why it wouldn't have done it with the Futaba but it's doing it with the airtronics. I'm using castle mamba monster 1 and I'm not sure about the caps. I just tried a glitch buster I had and it made no difference. Getting annoyed :(

radios have been bad out of the box, even the high-end ones.
I would do a little elimination process first.

Borrow another MT4 or MT4s and keep the same rx, esc, battery, motor.
Then try another rx
then the ESC
then battery
then motor.

also where is the rx mounted? it should be as far away from the esc and motor as possible. one last thing are you running a sensored or unsensored motor?

I have my old radio I was going to try that tomorrow. Don't have another mt4 I can borrow unfortunately.
The rx is mounted in the receiver box on a MBX7 Eco. Well away from the esc so that shouldn't be a problem. The motor has a sensor plug but I am not running sensored. Weird thing is that I did test the radio at a friends backyard track and it was all working fine. Race day today and I didn't finish a race.

The problem isn't the radio. The problem is the servo/bec in the speedo combo. For whatever reason your old radio was more tolerant of the problem but it is still there. You probably need an external BEC. That servo/speedo combo is notorious for this.

I was suspecting that (and kind of hoping). Thanks for the reply. I will grab a castle bec. Just curious as to why it was working for five minutes or so before it cut out. Then if I left it for a minute it everything would work again. Just overloaded to the point where the radio shut off?

This will work?
