Novak Ballistic 4.5 SC 550 motor issues
Hey guys. I bought a used slash 4x4 roller that included a used Novak Ballistic 550 motor with it. I got the truck today and put all my electronics in it as well as soldered wires to the motor. The only pinion I had that would work was a 19 tooth. Too big for what I want but I figured it would be fine for testing it out in the street.
So I put in a turnigy 5200 2s lipo and took it out. It will very rarely accelerate from a stop on it's own. If I push it with my foot it will take off usually but it is very picky with throttle. It will only work up to about 1/3 throttle. Sometimes you can roll into it real slow and get it up to some speed. Anytime you nail the throttle it cuts out completely.
I'm running a hobbyking 150a ESC that works perfect with anything else. I tried plugging in the sensor wire but it actually seemed worse. I also have a castle MMM I could try but it's in my Ve8 and I didn't really want to pull it out. Radio is a 2.4 flysky.
Anyone have any ideas on what to try? I thought maybe gearing was way too high but I've run across people using pinions close to that size for street running and do I don't think that's my issue. Thanks for any help!

Well I have an update. Don't know what the difference was but I plugged the sensor back in and it seems to be working excellent just on the bench. Fingers crossed!
