Great info Bill, thank you. I am curious what would be the measurements for M12 and M4s for normal, shr, and ssr. It is i9nteresting to know how much is good marketing....

From these numbers seems the Turnigy is the best from the budget radios. Better even than MX-V.

Yes, this is indicator for the latency. The output from reciever to the servo is giving the minimum achievable theoretical latency. It means the signal is updated that often and latency could not be less. It is theoretical as it takes no consideration of the signal processing from the input (potentiometer) to the receiver.
A link with good explanation how things work:

If I'm understanding your previous posts and info supplied correctly, the x-8n does operate at it's stated latencies?? Has anyone been able to get the 3ms setting to work? My current electronics are Justock esc , 1 ko servo and 3 solar servos from hobbyking. Thanks--Al

im sure it will work at that latency but i need new electronics. i know the savox wont cut it. or hobbywing stuff.

Well, I'm currently using a futaba 3pm 2.4ghz and really want to try the x-8n, but my concern is that I won't be able to use the 3ms mode. I'm not looking to completely change my electronics to get that response time.

i hear ya. i would only go to the graupner because you like it for other reason. it is highly unlikely you be able to tell that little difference in latency.

I go back and forth on buying a new radio of any brand. From what I've been able to find, my current radio MIGHT operate around 6-8ms. So the potential of 3ms is enticing. My friend feels that a new radio would be more precise as my current radio is about 7 years old. My biggest fear is that I won't feel a difference after spending a few hundred bucks.

I went from a spektrum dx3s to a radiopost and I could really tell the difference there. that was 5ms difference now I am looking into this radio myself. I would love to have a m12 but it is priced out of my range and the rx's are over 100 themselves. My radiopost has been good but I just like the looks of this radio. What are the verdicts at this time? what do you guys think that own these?

Does the antenna unscrew? So if it breaks you can replace it.?

What channel on both receivers does the transponder plug into?

On the 2 channel, the B/T terminal can be used as a power supply. The 4 channel picture is incorrect on Towers site, the receiver actually has 4 CH terminals and a T/V terminal for telemetry.

I'm seriously considering this TX as well.

The antenna cannot be unscrewed from outside. The falling part is 2,5 inches long and does not get much in the way.
Transponder is plugged into ch3 or 4 of the GR-8 receiver. It has 5 connectors - ch1-4 and T/V connector for Temp - Volt external sensor which apparently should not be connected to batt or the receiver will fail (i guess the external sensor reading circuit).

Stupid question time....

It has been reported that most electronics aren't working at the 3ms response time, I noticed that in the manual it states that there are two 3ms modes. Has any tried them both? Also, how would you rate the precision of this radio against others you have used?

Thanks in advance!

I would love to see what's said about this myself

Hideeho
I currently use an airtronics mt-4 & am considering a new tx that is faster (mt-4s & m-12, before finding this is actually being sold in the US). My problem is to take advantage of the lower latency of any of the 3 I'm going to have to get new servos. I have heard from several folks the airtronics brzr servo will work just fine for 1/8 (it's $200 though :( ). What graupner servos are equivilant (are suited for 1/8 steering & can handling super low latency)? Are there any servos from other brands that will work?

I believe in the mt4 thread there are a few posts stating that if you use fhss-4 rx's that you can get a latency of 4ms. Might be something to consider.
