anyone know if I can run the esc with out the LEDs? I just received the 120amp ESC and its missing the LED light bulbs. Theres just three empty holes.
I plan on getting the tunning card but I guess binding will be a issue since you use the light to indicate when to bind?
Meh, Ill just send it back. You get what you pay for . I guess it might not be worth it .

I have three with the open holes, just set one up last night matter of fact. The LED's are there, just down inside and you can see them fine to set it up. After setup, at a minimum put some tape over the holes to keep out dirt/debris. I prefer to use shoe goo, goop, or whatever you can find similar. Nothing will get past the goop and it comes right off whenever you want it too. Works good to stick the capacitor bank to the chassis with also.

Definately get the programming card, very inexpensive and nice to have. Simple to use also.

These are the instructions I use to calibrate the esc. I didn't write them, just copy paste from one of the file tabs off hobbyking.

Calibrating
I’m not sure if the instructions in other comments and in the files section are inaccurate,
or simply written for a different firmware revision than mine.
On my ESC the LEDs would start out being SOLID (not flashing) they will flash while
programming the different positions. Yellow for neutral, Orange for full, Red for reverse. Step by
step instructions go like this:
● Hold the set button and switch on the esc
● Solid Yellow LED indicates ready to calibrate NEUTRAL
● Leave throttle neutral, press SET, yellow LED flashes while reading NEUTRAL
● Solid Orange LED indicates ready to calibrate Full Throttle
● With throttle to full, press SET and the Orange LED will flash while calibrating
● Solid Red LED indicates the ESC is ready to calibrate reverse
● With throttle in full reverse, press SET and the Red LED will flash while calibrating
● When the esc is done calibrating full reverse it will flash all three LEDs in sequence to
indicate programming is done.

I understand, it does look like it's completely missing the parts. But it'll work, I've seen too many that are exactly like that and work perfect. If you have trouble programming it, let me know and maybe I can help. Sometimes they are a bit tricky.

Sweet car. What receiver is that? Have you run the 1st version 120A esc? I'm curious as to what's different and how people like it. I just put the 1st one in my T4 the other day. Very nice, I took out an orion R10 that needs sent in for repair.

The receiver is the turnigy Orange series for spectrum dsm2 they are like $14 hehe I've raced with them for years

I also run the v1 it's also gold , one of my favourite functions with both v1 and v2. Is the turn off ---- just finish your run hold the trigger to brake for 4-5 sec and boom the car is turned off ✌️
The v2 esc is slightly smaller
Cheers

Default Can anyone help with my trackstar 150a esc?

Back story...I got the 1/8 scale trackstar combo a couple years ago. The 120a Esc malfunctioned and they sent me a 150a for the replacement. I ended up buying the sidewinder 3 1/8 combo for my stampede so I had something to use while I waited for the replacement process to work itself out. I finally got around to placing the combo in my sons rustler a couple days ago and the esc won't calibrate. When I turn it on it flashes green and won't do anything else. I followed instruction manual but no luck. Side note...I decided to try the 120a that wouldn't work before and somehow fixed it with no instruction manual.
