Default Hobbywing XERun v3.1 failed firmware update - bricked ESC

Hey guys,

So I tried updating the firmware on my XERun v3.1 Stock Spec ESC, and it turns out that midway through the process an error occurred. It wouldn't let me try updating again after. Now the ESC will turn on, but doesn't turn off and can't be calibrated with the radio or respond to throttle/brake. It also won't connect to either my LCD program card or through the USB Link software. I will probably be sending it in for repairs, but is there anything I can try right now to fix it? Let me know, thanks!

This is pretty wild. I was just coming in here to post this exact thread. I tried to update last night, as the brakes suck with my stock spec, and it gave me the error, and now the esc is locked up tight.

This has been identified in the HW off-road thread http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...-off-road.html, and apparently has happened to some of the v3.1 ESCs. HW is apparently replacing any ESC which this has happened to.

I have three HW 3.1 (all 120A) and so far its been fine taking the firmware updates

i have to give major kudos to hobbywing. I contacted customer service, and after a few emails he agreed it was the known issue with the stock spec esc. filled out an rma per his instructions, mailed it in, and they sent me the latest greatest stock spec v3.1 with the new rom.
Kudos for a manufacturer to step up and replace the product with no hassle.
Great Customer Support and service.

Happened to my V3.1 XERUN AXE too.
I mailed Hobbywing, but no reply.
Do they have a telephone call ? or maybe an email address that they do respond to.
Please help me with contact details.
