Keeping stuff out of the fan on an rx8

anyone come up with a way to keep things out of the fan on the rx8. Twice I have something come off the track and get stuck in the fan causing it to stop running. Just trying to think of something to cover it with.

try insect screen for windows. glue/tape it to top or try to cut holes where the screws for the fan are

Make sure the fan is blowing up instead of down, as it was intended.

Sorry Hoese that's not correct. All fans should be installed to blow air down over the heat sink of the esc. Definately not pull air up and away from the heatsink. This is the intended installation of the fan. The tekin manual found here http://www.teamtekin.com/assets/tws_manual_rx8gen2.pdf also states the same under 'fan installation'.

never realized that. Ive had mine blowing up for 2 years now, still the original fan.

I've always used sheer panty hose on my Castle ESC's....cut a square piece out and shoe goo the edges. Or in my case, I install the Traxxas holddown and it stays put.

That's an interesting idea Yosh... Might have to cut some out of the wife's!

unless you run an unusual configuration, don't use a fan on the RX8

you can monitor the temps with the leds and the esc will shut down if it's too hot anyway

just cut some vents in the body
