With most who go to another brand from spektrum : all their radio issue dissapear & they will never go back.

DSM & DSM2 are OBSELETE tech. Thats the issue with Spektrum.

They had a better system for years, but didnt care enough to roll it out to car radios (DSMx) .
DSM was relatively instantly dropped for RC AIR by spektrum (DX6 original), yet still deemed good enough for RC Car TX's ...why??
2.4 is now so crowded/noisey , radio gear has to be able to cope.
Spektrums were the ONLY tx's to be effected by Flysky/hobbing transmitters. In fact, locally many tried to have those TX's banned due to issues with Spetrum.Only Spektrum. No other brand was effected.

Having said that, Spektrums new system should be much much better. DSMr
Their transmitters do feel great to use.
And Im sure that many issues blamed on Spektrum radio's are actually caused by something else. That Ive seen myself .

I know i get the lower end ones... but come on...
Real world stuff...

-Brand new 2.4ghz radio come of the Losi Mini8... range was around 40meters.
Bought a Kyosho KT201 and range is real world not a mistaken 500meters.
That's even more 100meters then the Sanwa Mx11. And that Kyosho cost around 30euros and i still use it after 5 years of intense use!

-Blade helis with dx4e... goodbye. Bought a fancy Dx6i... computer programing, cool! But sometimes helis come down with no aparente reason. They lost there tranmission signal??????? What... Spektrum? Helis? Can't go down for lost of signal, more then 6 times in these 4 years of Helis use...
And at 10 meters of close... not at 1.7kmh of supposed range in the stick remotes!

got a dx3c, dx3s, 2x dx3r.. tried a M11x, sold everything Spektrum and bought a second M11x :lol:

if you buy a radio go for sanwa, futaba or kopropo

spektrum is like savox IMO: overrated

it feels cheap, it's light (I like the weight of my M11x), it looks like a toy and the technology is outdated

I have spectrum with Helis and a few planes. I now have a DX6i. Some peculiarities but no actual problems. i know some people break the rolling select bar but I have not. Don

I have a DX3E which came in a used car I bought. Ergonomics are not good for me, but the most weird feel is the throttle, trigger fit it's not bad but the spring tension is almost non-existent. Had issues with a high-amp load causing the rx to brown-out. OTH the spektrum pro module in my M8 is issue free apart from getting small interference from my GT3B. Maybe spektrum is getting better with DSMr...

I have used every spektrum model and continue to upgrade when they bring out new systems. Currently in the dx4r pro and love it. I am a racer and race several cars every week. The spektrum meets my needs and has never lost me a race. I run everything from F1 to stock oval cars. Typically running 5-7 cars a night. Only problems I have ever had were week bec's that a novak glitch buster solved. I have tried other brands and think you get more for your money out of spektrum.

The spektrum radios are bad and cheap because I have found lots of glitches with pauses even with a capacitor. I have a sanwa mt4 and I love it and would never go back.

The biggest problem is low voltage batteries with Spektrum. I had a horrible time with them until I got rid of the rechargeable 1.2 volt batteries. That was way to low of a voltage for it to operate. I now run 1.6 volt NIZN batteries and the problems for the most part have disappeared. You must keep the batteries fresh or pay the price. They should have gone to 5 batteries instead of four, and the glitching problems would have never existed. With the 1.6 volt batteries, I am showing 6.9 volts after a charge, and they hold their charge very well.

Old time Futaba user that has switched over to Spektrum a few years ago. Bought an older 2 channel and never had signal problems but one day it just stopped working. So I bought another because at that point I already had a bunch of receivers. It was a DX3C and I loved it. Never gave me a problem and just sold it to a friend with my B44. Replaced it with a DX4R Pro and love that one even more. All the features I need and then some. I even noticed that at the last 2 trophy races I was at I saw a lot of DX4R Pros.

I even watched a guy drop his Spektrum DX3C (I think) off the drivers stand right onto the front straight during a 4WD mod buggy race and it got blasted by a Schumacher at full speed, battery door flew off and there was a battery explosion. Put it all back together and it worked fine.

I think a lot of people just have jumped on an old bandwagon. Spektrum had a lot of problems early on and they are having a hell of a time shaking that because some people would rather run their mouths instead of letting people decide for themselves. Most modern radios from any of the big name companies are going to be more than enough for most people, PERIOD. Get what you can afford and what feels good to you and what you like. All brands can and will have problems, possibly some more than others, but ANY radio can have the same problems.

Used a few of the latest spektrum models and I am not a fan of the feel.

Specs look very good on paper but not for me.
