Spektrum DX3R Scroll/button issue...
 

For the longest time, I've had issues with the Spektrum DX3R scroll/button not working sometimes. There is still feedback, and I hear it clicking, but the electronics think im not doing this. Is there any fix for this?

Sounds like an issue that Spektrum may need to address by servicing the radio. I would reach out to their support, they tend to be very reasonable to deal with.

It's a common issue in the Spektrum radios. You will need to send it in for repair. I live close to Horizon so I just drop mine off.

I had a radio that belonged to a friend, that the trigger spring broke. While I was in the process of fixing it, I noticed that the circuit board that sits behind the scroll wheel had come out on one side of where it mounts. This was causing the same problem you are having. Except he would have to push really hard for it to work.

Its not too hard. A handful of screws that keep the sides together. you need to be very easy when you pry up on the clear cover for the screen so it doesn't crack and you only need to remove it from one side ( its glued) a couple screws for the wheel and slowly split the cases. Set the circuit card back in the little slots and put it back together. If you are careful enough, you wont need to re-glue the screen cover.

Looks Like i'll be contacting Spektrum soon. Hopefully they'll accept my radio since i've owned it for the past 2 years and up until now haven't had issues.

Interesting.. If Spektrum doesn't accept my radio for warranty, i'll definitely give this a shot. As it stands, almost sounds like my current issue.

I put an old school "comm drop "for brushed motors the potentiometer/switch thing that the scroll knob is attached to and it has worked great for several years. Rubbng alcohol or contact cleaner might work too.
My issue was that i couldnt scroll up or down. But the button worked. I just couldnt see 30 dollars in shipping to make a simple fix.

I have the micro switches to repair that issue. Same thing happened to me so I had my friend who owns an electronics supply house order me some switches.

I can sell you one for $5 includes shipping

Not hard to replace, just need soldering iron and a solder plunger. $8 RadioShack.

I was having this same issue with a DX4R I just bought off a guy on Facebook, I was ready to start having a fit, found this on Google search, took it apart, used alcohol and a q tip, working like it should, thank you
