Troubleshooting brushless motor.

Hey all I have a Speedpassion BL motor that I bought new. I was soldering the leads on when I bumped it off my work bench and it fell on the floor. I hooked it up to test it out and it sounded like carp and got warm right away under zero load.

I turned it off and spun the shaft. There wasn't any more or less resistance in the motor than the ones I have that work fine.

I believe the fall shorted out either the sensor or the stator. I was wondering how to test these components w/ a multimeter so I can tell which one is bad and fix it.

All help tips appreciated.

If it gets hot under zero load I would think that the stator has a short in it. I believe you can test for that by measuring the resistance with an ohm meter but have zero experience in that department. You might do a search in the forum or online for "brushless stator test"

As for the sensor board, you can just remove the sensor cable and see if the problem is still there.
