Esc to Servo Power correlation
 

Alrighty there folks. Question of the day. I've decided to fully race my rc's next year. The track closest only runs blinky mode/clubstock which is a shame as I've owned a Viper Copperhead for a little under a year now. To simplify my esc choice I've decided to keep it simple with the Speed Passion Stock Club esc and a Trinity Killshot. My only problem is that I currently own a digital servo that runs at 6.0v minimum and was wondering how that correlated to the amps of the above esc. Its rated at 40a where as my Viper is 150a. Any information and knowledge would be much appreciated.

Stock classes with stock motors don't draw anywhere near the power as the more "basher" oriented 4pole systems.

I would go with a hobby wing juststock esc. It is easy to use, and has great resale value if you decide to move to another class.

The servo is supplied off of power from the bec in the esc (or external if you go that way) and has nothing to do with the amperage of the esc.

If you look at the specs for the ESC you are purchasing, it is rated at 6.0V for the BEC so you should be gtg.
