Servo issues

I own a Traxxas Digital 2070 Digital Servo and a Futaba Analog S3003. I'm pretty nice to RC so I don't think these rate as really great servos.

Anyway I race an offroad 1/10 buggy and keep having issues when I get hit in a race (or a wall since I'm terrbile :) ) that servo gears strip some teeth with both of them. Frustrating since I keep needing to replace them. Is this a common occurance since they are cheaper servos?

Would this happen with a better servo......is a metal geared servo a better option?

Thank you for any help.

Get a good servo. I suggest Expert, airtronics, Kopropo, futaba. Something with some good torque but not so much that it will compromise speed. I like fast steering servos. Digital will consume a bit more power cause they have all available torque right off center while analog needs to build its torque as it travels away from center.

a good quality metal geared servo won't strip as easily. It is a better option.

Oh, forgot to mention, Hitec makes servos and really stands behind their products. I don't own Hitech, but so many people have reported that if /when the servo fails (like stripping gears) they just send it in and Hitec fixes it free and fast. Since you're new and crashing and being new go hand in hand, I'd recommend one of those.

Savox and Radio Post stand behind their product, but warranty turn around is a hassle (hoops) or takes forever (personnel experience).

Steering servor stripped (hitec 7940 HV). Is it worth replacing the gears or should I just get a new one?
