For the Electronic gurus!

Have a Hudy tire truer (manual model #102802) that blows fuses while trying to power up. Checked continuity across the motor leads and shows continuity like it should. (right?) No short to ground or motor case. Only has 2 small square chips/capacitor inside. Could one of them be a rectifier/bridge that shorted out? What could be causing this? Over worked it a bit and popped a couple of fuses and now won't start up for nothing. Just keeps popping fuses.

is this 12vdc or 120vac ..since ur asking about a bridge rectifier i may think it is AC.. most bridge recs dont short closed .. I think you may have seized the bearing thru to much heat.. try and spin motor by hand..disconnect wires and measure voltage across them.. if NO voltage then trace back to where u have power..

Forgot to add...it's 110 volt. Motor spins over free. took it apart to inspect and couldn't see anything wrong. Comm looks good. Plenty of brush left. No burnt wires anywhere. Not much to these things. Will try the thing tomorrow by unhooking the wire and see what happens.

I unhooked the motor, fuse still blows. Disconnect the rectifier, NO BLOWN FUSE. Hopefully that's all it is. Will try and get one tomorrow from radio shack.
