Exclamation tekin rs after chassis slap wont turn on at all!

Hey guys. I was at leisure hours raceway and they have a pretty big quad near the drivers stand and i over landed is by a lil bit and flat landed and my b5 chassis slapped pretty good it went around a corner and half a straight then just completely shutoff. ive hooked up another battery and turned it off and back on ive checked the wireing and everything seems to be good i asked the local guy there what it could be and he said it may be the bourd inside. are there any other ideas that could have happened or is this esc screwed. let me know some things i can try to get it back to running or if its just dead. thanks guys

Esc is probably damaged internally. Best to send it in for repairs.

The first thing I would do it make sure the power switch isn't bad. I have had them fail on every Tekin esc I have owned. Cut the switch off and twist the wires together, then plug in a battery. If it still does not turn on, then you have a bad board. I remove the switch on all of mine now before I even install it in the car.

Before you check the switch, try wiggling the battery solder posts. If it comes on its a bad board. Since Tekin is no longer making the RS line, they would have you get a RSX for an upgrade cost.

Strange...I have 3 Tekins now and have had at least 3 times that many in the past and never had a switch problem yet. (knock on wood) First thing I see if looking for a used tekin is if a switch is cut off, I won't buy it cause if I want to use it in a 2 cell vehicle, it's no good to me.

Ahh yes. Check the switch first. Those tekin switches are notorious for going bad..

I thought they now had the rs gen 2. Or did they already stop making that?

Still making the RS Gen 2. The RSX replaced the Pro version.

what? Why would no switch make it useless for 2 cell operation?

Don't like the only choice of turning the truck off/on is with plugging/unplugging the battery. Can be a hassle in an emergency with the body on! Switch is there for a purpose. (jmo)

Make sure there are no wires crossing over the top of the buttons. If a wire hits the buttons that will cause the unit to lose power for a few seconds while it reboots.
