XL2 data graph help
New to the XL2 and the data logging feature. That said ive been reading up on the Ripple and how you dont want it to be to high. Plus it also shows whether your batteries are good or not. Now im doing high speed runs with it. Im trying to figure out if im harming the system or not.

Here is what Patrick del Castillo says about ripple on the Mamba XL:
A good place to be is at less than 5%-7% of pack voltage for the worst-case ripple voltage. An OK place to be is 7%-10% of pack voltage for worst-case ripple. 10%-12% is marginal, and is risky. If ripple voltage is above 12-15% (or more) of pack voltage at any point, it's likely that the battery isn't up to the task, and you run the risk of damaging the battery and the electronics. For your batteries, you generally want to make sure that they never drop below around 3.3V per cell under load. Your log shows 3.2V, that won't kill your lipos instantly but may stress them more. Also make sure that your lipos do not get hotter than 120F during the run. What was the sample rate with those logs? If you want to "catch" very short current spikes on the graphs, set it to 10Hz. It would be nice if you could post those graphs (or some new ones) again, but zoomed in so that it only shows the speedrun itself, i.e. seconds 90-115 in the graph. Please also include the throttle input in the graphs, this way people can see better what's going on. I would be interested in how the XL2 runs with that high gearing, do you have cogging problems? Is the gearing 37t pinion and 30t spur, or the other way around? How much does that car weigh ready to run with Lipo? |
