Sensored Motor Help

Hey guys,
I just blew my Speed Passion Reventon S Esc when i connected it with a Turnigy Trackstar sensored motor. I cant find out anywhere why this happened. So can someone please give some tips and tricks that must be done with sensored combos. i am new to sensored combos but have been in the hobby for a while.
Thanks:flaming::flaming::flaming:

How many turns was the motor? Did you have a-a b-b and c-c wired correctly? Did it work sensorless (without sensor cable, as Reventon S should auto switch)

It was a 9.5t motor and i think all the wire were connected in the right order. I have since found out that the esc is rated for motors 10.5t and above, so that might have had an effect.
Thanks

I dont think running a 9.5t would have killed it that quick. Unless it was geared high and ran on 3s or some stressful running. I had the Reventon S. It wasnt the most powerful set up. I would beat if it blew right away you had a faulty ESC. I would return to SP for replacement. Even though Im about 100% sure your 9.5 didnt fry it, I wouldnt mention it when talking to SP

Ok thanks, i emailed the retailer and they told me to send it to then and they will inspect it and if it is faulty they will replace it, thanks for your help

ESC Ratings are based on Amp draw (ESC's can't count), not how many turns the motor is, I have seen a 21.5 motor blow up a 120A esc because the drivetrain was locked solid and the user kept mashing the throttle.

I would like to hear what they have to say. My guess is you got an unlucky motor with a shorted stator in it.
