Lipo Question.

So, i kinda overused my starter box lipo a bit. Now whenever i try to balance charge it as a 4s lipo, it goes ahead and reads it as a 3s lipo. But it still shows the four cells and their voltages. Can someone tell me whats going on and how i can fix this? I also don't want to charge it as a 3s, it's like the batterys having a hard time choosing whether its a 3s or a 4s. I halted the charge, i dont want anything blowing up

When its on the charger, it says this.
R : 3SER S : 4SER

Doesnt that mean user 3ser and system 4ser? How can the user be a 3s if i manually put 4s Lipo?

Try just a regular charge for a min or two to get the voltages up, but watch it closely. You may need to set it to 3s for this. If it starts to swell or starts getting hot stop. Then try balance charging again.

R is the number of cells detected by the charger, S is the number of cells selected by you.

Alright thanks, i'm doing it as of right now. Each cell is about 3.50V each. It's pretty funny that it's still charging 4 cells even though its seeing it as a 3s.

Edit : AHAH! I let it sit there for a second, and its now reading it as a 4s. Thanks so much!

Typical charger will boot up in "charge" mode for Lipo. Use the right arrow ">" key until you see "storage" and then hit start.

...Be sure balance plug is attached...

it will flash on mah, most will have a very low value there, use the right arrow key again to push that number, likely it only goes to 2 , in 1/10 increments. Go all the way up and hit start again, this time it will be flashing on the number of cells, arrow left or right until you have the number you need based on the battery you want to storage charge.

Most chargers have a safety timer so that after 120 minutes they just stop. If the battery is a large capacity one and you can only pull 2 amps out with your charger in storage mode you may have run it more than one time.
