ESC and Motor Compatibility.....
Hey guys, new to the forums here and thought I would ask for some noobie help regarding compatibility between a ESC/Motor. I've been looking at getting the following.
ESC JUSTOCK SPEC Race ESC Motor [Associated Reedy Sonic 540 Mach 2 17.5T Spec Motor Also if you guys don't mind chiming in and educating me on whats makes these compatible :) I'm also looking for any suggestions on a servo brand/model for a 2wd buggy :) Appreciate any help provided! Thanks!:spidey: |
Yes, that combo is compatible. The Reedy motor is a sensored brushless motor which works best in a sensored configuration. the hobbywing ESC is compatible with both sensored AND sensorless motors. Sensored motors perform better because the hall effect sensor in the motor tells the ESC exactly what position the motor's rotor is in so the ESC can calculate which poles to energize for optimum performance. Sensorless motors are not generally used in racing set-ups.
As for servos, Protek RC (an A-Main brand) has some nice servos for good prices. They do have cored motors in them which are generally slower than coreless motor servos, but the Proteks have really good torque and speed numbers. Look for a servo with around 130-150 oz-in of torque and a transit time of 0.10 sec or less. Other good brands are Savox, Futaba, Airtronics, KO Propo, Hitec, Xpert, and perhaps Spektrum. |
Sounds good! Thank you for the reply and info! :D
