Default Lipo/life battery for Spectrum

I just bought a DX3R from a guy at the track and was wondering is there is a decent lipo/life pack that works in the Tx? It only takes 4aa and seems to last a long time so I'm not too worried.
thanks,
Mark

Look at the Ni-Zn batteries, they run at a higher voltage than Ni-MH or Ni-Cad. Spektrum radios do not like to get below 5 volts and those old school AA rechargeables like to live there.

Any links to specific packs (if available) please?

Low Self Discharge / Ready to Run nimh batteries, like the Sanyo Eneloops and others, are an excellent choice for Spektrum and other transmitters. Essentially all of the benefits of lithium types, with few if any drawbacks. Don't have to worry about leaving the radio on and over discharging, puffing, etc. I've used them in a pair of 3R radios for years, charge a few times a year if that, mostly before big races just in case, I've never had them run down.

They are also all over eBay from US and Foreign distributers at a wide variety of prices.

I can not recall who I got them from, but I picked up 8 batteries for $20 and two chargers for $7 each. Not cheap, but I got them like 4 days later.
