Orion R10 Pro issue. HELP,!
I purchased an R10 pro from a guy on this forum a few days ago. I received it today. Upon opening it out of the box it smelt burnt. Quite frustrated. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. We soldered on a new 17.5 T motor and powered it up. It seemed to work. All the LED's lit correctly but no motor function. I was able to calibrate it to my controller. When I plug in the sensor wire nothing happens unless I give the motor a bump. After that as long as I keep power on it works. If it stops then no go until it gets bumped again. If I unplug the sensor wire it seems to function sensor-less. Can not find a setting to say sensored or not. I have another one and it works awesome. I have tried several sensor wires and even tried a different motor. The guy was active and I messages him then all of the sudden he got off line. I emailed him and no return message. Paid with paypal so I hope I am protected.
I will give up the name if he does not make it right. |
Sounds like a faulty ESC, Most likely the Hall Sensor plug is acting up, have you tried both sensor ports on the ESC?

Yes I have tried both sensor ports. It will run the motor only if I give it a nudge. If it stops it will need another nudge to get going again.

I had an speedpasion do this and it was the capacitor

When I had a Reventon S do this it was a warranty job (Fet issue) so either way, something has gone wrong on the ESC. But in that case it wouldn't run sensorless at all and needed a nudge to get going on sensored.

Thank you all for the info. Regardless if the guy does not get back to me within 24 hrs to make this right it will be turned into paypal. I have already spoke with them. I hope all will work out.

Would love the new one but they are out outrageous to by new. I have never burned anybody and have never been burnt by anybody. I guess there is a first for everything.

I wouldn't waste 24hrs. Just file a claim with paypal. Get ur money back and send that junk pack. Get urself another r10 pro or wait 2 weeks bc the new r10.1 pro is coming out.

Thats a bummer. Iv'e got a new one in the classifieds. Still shrinkwrapped. Find the cheapest place online and I'll sell it for $10 less (OP has dibs). Don't forget to ask your LHS for a deal, mine meets or beats online pricing all the time.
