Lap Counting with Spektrum DX4r Pro

Hi All,

Im new to racing. I want to get the feeling for what my lap times are and how to improve them. I purchased this transmitter and read that I can do lap counting with the correct lap counter unit. It doesn't detail how this works in the manual. Does anyone know how I can make this happen?

Like a transponder? That will give you lap times and count. Some radio offer a lap timer too. It it essentially a stopwatch built into the radio, and every time the car comes by, you can click off a lap and it records time.

Spektrum has all but given up on lap feature of telemetry....just not very accurate and quite finicky when it did work.
A transponder is only good if your track has a timing system installed AND everything is set up with a computer running.
That may work on club races or bigger events but on practice days, just bring a friend/relative with you that can use a stopwatch or their smartphone (who HASN'T got one?) to time your laps.
