Tekin RS Pro, No Software
 
Yesterday I was updating the software on my Tekin RS Pro from 212 to 223 because a little prompt came up on my screen and said there is a software update at teamtekin.com after I updated the software by Using the Hotwire the esc software was showing on my computer as a ? For software. Now my computer will not recognize my tekin ESC after I did the software download so my ESC lights up when I plug it into the hotwire through the computer but I get nothing when I plug it into the lipo. Any help is appreciated.

One problem may be if the upload communication was interupted for any reason then it corrupts the RS firmware. In other words it may be a dead ESC. Best to contact Tekin for a RMA number to send it in for repair or replacement.

Try completely removing hotwire from your computer (in add/remove programs) and reinstall. Then hook up the esc and don't remove until it says complete and safe to disconnect.
Nothing? Send it in.

Had to be sent in, tekin said firmware may have been corrupted during download

Hmmm, did they say that they could repair it? Or are they replacing it with an RSX?
The latter would be really nice :D

Sad to say it was repaired, somehow or another software didn't download correctly, but I'm still pleased. My esc is coming back and best of all...free.:nod::nod:

I wish that was the case with my RX8. It stopped working, I sent it back, they declared it dead and billed me for its replacement a new RX8 Gen2 for a shade over $120.

They are not buying the parts for the gen1 RX8 so if that's the issue, you have to upgrade unfortunately.
His was a software issue.
