lipo charge rates
I just got 2 new 2s 7200 SMC batteries, and the paper with them says don't charge below 1C. i have the hitec x4 charger which only goes to 6A, which would be less than 1C charge rate. Is this ok or should I look into another charger like a hyperion?

Your charger will work fine but your charges times are going to be long. I

I have your same charger but my SMC is only 5000maH. I set it to fast charge at 6 amps. I have LOTS of cycles on my SMC so far and its great!!

Never heard of a minimum, other than you'll be waiting a long to for them to charge.
If your track follows ROAR rules, know that you are not allowed to charge over 1C.

This makes me feel like ROAR is like NCAA enforcing stupid rules. Who cares how fast you charge your batteries, not like its changing the race. I probably have to wear close-toed shoes to go to a ROAR race also hahahaha

haha i've never heard that rule but my track def doesn't care about charging rates.

close-toed shoes..considering ROAR provides some form of insurance, IIRC, at sanctioned tracks, yes it's within their rights to require them.
Close-toed shoes are actually one of their smarter rules if you ask me! Should be common sense but sadly a lot of rules have to be written because people don't have any.

Charging at high amps heats the batteries up and lowers the IR. There's a slight advantage.
ROAR also states that a battery can't be more than 5 degrees above or below ambient temperature.
The rule has good intentions. 1) it gives people more consistency across the board, and 2) prevents people from trying to push it too far and exposing everyone around them from a possible lipo fire/explosion.
So, as far as who care's if you're overcharging your battery at 40 amps? Well, if my pit table is anywhere around yours, I care.
And as for rules...there are rules that should be common sense. Like closed toe shoes. But since we all know that common sense isn't all that common. Looks like someone wrote it down just in case.
