3mp-x or 3pl?
I've been thinking of switching over to Futaba and trying to decide if I need the Fasst technology. Eventually I want to have 2 radios so the fhss stuff seems to be more economical, but if the fasst is that much better, then that's what I'll go with. I asked the lhs what the difference was and all he said was fasst is faster. I asked if he thought I needed fasst and he said it depends on how serious I am. I do race, but its not as if I plan to go pro. Anyone have input on these choices?

I've had both and prefer the 3pl hands down. It takes 4 batts instead of 8, and the rx's are half the price. I personally couldn't really tell the difference in speed between the 2. Plus, all the 3pl rx's work on the 4pl (current radio)

Thanks guys. Some good info there. I just worry that I'll put my money into fhss and then turn around in the future only to dump it in favor of the fasst, but it sounds like the fhss will do the job. I wonder how comparable the fhss is to my spektrum?

Trigger is way to big on the 3pm. Makes quick braking difficult because of the gap between the foward and brake/reverse
Unless u have real fat fingers I wouldn't suggest it |

Many people wrap tape around the brake side of the trigger on many controllers regardless of brand to "adjust" that anyway.
I can see people wrapping triggers on any TX to get them just right but to wrap enough tape to close the gap on a 3pm would start to restrict the foward brake travell on the trigger. The 3pm was my first remote. My friend has a 3pm but he is 6'6 350lbs and it's still big for his finger lol I have no idea why futaba made the trigger so big on the 3pm. My 4pksr is normal size. Maybe the 3pm was purposely made for large fingers? Lol To the original poster just find a used 4PL (or pony up for a new 4pls) and don't worry about the Fasst system. The FHSS is just fine you won't miss/notice any differnce and you'll save money on RXs. |
