How to desolder hobbywing esc?
I have a hobbywing 150 amp esc and the wires are super thick. I'm trying to desolder them but it won't melt. I am using a hakko soldering station at 899 degrees Fahrenheit and nothing. Any tips?

Cutting the wires short is a good idea as Panda says. It'll stop the long wires transferring the heat away from the joint. Also adding a little fresh solder into the mix can improve the heat transfer process helping to melt the joint quicker. Good luck!

cut the wires as short as you can while still being able to grip them with some pliers when the solder melts.

I've tried an 80w iron with a 1/2" wide chisel tip and won't cut it. They use silver solder and that takes alot of heat to melt. Castle does the same thing and I hate that!!! I haven't tried cutting the wire shorter to see if that would help. If it don't...now I have NO wire!
