Budget Motor

Looking for a good 8.5 to 10.5t to run in a t4.2 that is not too expensive. One that is durable and doesn't run hot. Not really racing yet, but running on a clay track. Thanks.

Hands down, look for a Turnigy Trackstar motor from Hobbyking. You can get one for about $37 shipped from their US distributor and they're fantastic motors.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...or_4120KV.html There's a 9.5t motor. They have motors from 4.0 up to 21.5 I believe.

Check out the motors on the SMC site. Heard good things about them.

+1. I have a 21.5 in my USGT car and it's been rock solid and fast. It's hard to believe how cheap (cost) the motor is for something that feels so good.

why get a "off brand" motor, when you can get an awesome motor on here used for in the 35-55 dollar range? Unless you need new. nothing wrong with the off brand motors...just not quite as good as some other brands.

Some people just want new and cant afford the latest and greatest or don't want to deal with the hassle of buying used. I run a D3.5 with the board band rotor and honestly the trackstar motors are every bit as smooth and powerful.

The Trackstar motors are very good. Beware, the 17.5 is not roar legal from what I have heard. This is easily the most popular motor at my track, bar none.
