Exclamation Rewire Lipo Balancer from TP to JST

So I acquired a 2s lipo that has a Thunderpower style balance tap, only problem is nothing I have uses that style (all are JST).

Rather than buy/build an adaptor would it be possible to just cut off the TP connector and solder on a JST connector. Since there are 4 wires rather than 3 my thinking was tie the 2 black wires (ground) together and then just have the normal 3 for JST.

Does this make sense and will it work? Prefer not to burn down my house/car/etc.

Weird, I thought 2S ThunderPower taps had a empty slot? Do you have a voltmeter? I think checking voltages and going by that is highly advisable. Wouldn't trust the wire colors since there are more than 2, a lipo cell will fry a small balancer wire virtually instantaneously.
