Hitec X4 ac dc
Hello, thinking to upgrade to this particular model. However, it is max at 1c? This the deal breaker. Anyone knows if this is a safely feature or simply the internal power supply is not strong enough when its using 2c x4 at the same time?
In addition, is charing at 2c 3c 4c 5c is dangerous and will shorten the Lipo battery life significantly? Thanks |
the "c" rating is relative to the battery.

Oh i think i should explain better. I am referring "C" of the fast charge rating. Some batteries are sfae to use up to 5C fast charge. Some older one cant. Of course, some charger are fixed at 1c; some Hyperion can run 2c to fast charge. Thx

to find the "max C a charger can do" you take the charger watt capability, and divide it by the pack to be charged voltage. So since each is a 50 watt output…
so lets say you have a 7.4 volt (2s battery) 50/7.4=6.75 amps. So you can charge a 2s lipo at a max of 6.75 amps. this might be more, or less than 1c, depending on the capacity of the pack. |
Oh i see, makes sense now. Kind of answering my question. due to the 50w internal power per channel.... thx
|
thats why…for higher voltage packs 5s,6s, etc, you want a higher amp charger. because 50/22.2= 2.25, which would take forever.
a 1c charge rate for a lipo battery is (capacity)/(1000) so a 5000mah battery has a "fast charger rate" at 1c of 5 amps. 2c would be 10 amps 3c would be 15 amps 4c 20 amps etc. |
1c is considered "safest"

Thanks Panda. That GensAce 7.4 says that its can take up to 5c fast charge. Thats amazing and thats y i plan to get a charger that i can mess with the "C".. LOL
