Servo woes..
 

Ran the car tonight. Ran into some big issues and dnf'd for the first time in over a year. Servo saver isn't the same one way to the next, and middle of driving steering would give up. At times is be full lock on the radio, and steering would be straight on the car. Radio is a kiy, servo is a savox low profile, tekin esc, ko receiver. I tried swapping servos with a spare savox a friend had, swapped my rx from the wgt car, even swapped power caps and it still was the same. Still glitches. Many think it's the servo. And the saver for sure. Opinions?

What's everyone else running? I need low profile because of the way the floating mount on my xray t4 is. I liked the savox (matched everything) but I need function over form..

I assume the "power caps" you're referring to are connected to your receiver?

If connecting an external capacitor to the receiver doesn't rectify the issue, your only alternative might be to switch servo brands. Savox servos work pretty well, but are power hungry. I had similar problems, and eventually decided to use Futaba low-profile servos to replace all of my Savox gear. Try a different brand of servo with the receiver that's in the car, and see if the problems are resolved.

I was contemplating that. Many tell me to get the ko rsx servo, but I don't know if I can justify that much for a servo. Is it really worth it? Another option is a Guyana s9551, which I have (need new case though), or get a brushless version of that. Opinion? I liked the servo but if it keeps screwing up what's the point?

At first, I had a hard time justifying the $120 price tag for the Futaba BLS551 servos I use in all of my TCs. Wish I made the decision to switch sooner, as I noticed an immediate improvement in overall control, response, and accuracy. The RSX servos were on my radar as well, but I'd had really good luck with the Futaba equipment over the years, so I chose their product instead.
